This is a view of Cerro Pedernal from Ghost Ranch, watching Pedernal stand tall over Abiquiu Lake. This is a famous Abiquiu view, and expresses Georgia O'Keeffe's love for 'Old Flat Top', as she referred to Pedernal. Abiquiu Lake is simply drawn and the foreground rocks make up the vegetation in various colors that we get from the topographical scenery. Pedernal is constructed of tightly knit basalt with the exception of a few evergreens near its base.Pedernal's rocks were very hard to assemble-- much like a puzzle. The mountain looms large to the ground below it while the cumulus clouds once again try to soften up 'old flat top.'

As we find our way through life, we often have to reset and take a few steps back; much like we have to do as we work our way through the Labyrinth. Hopefully our path will allow us to become as complete as we can be as we make our way to our central goal.

Spring clouds over the oasis in the high desert called Abiquiú Lake. The mood for this picture was to create a certain peacefulness to it. The lake purposely takes on a simple form and the land is depicted by the different rocks although mostly in the same color palette. The lake and land are only to serve as the easel for which to display the clouds: The endless array of conforming and soft peaceful clouds made of limestone. And yes, I did get the inspiration from Georgia.

This is Us is a refreshing piece of work to absorb. It is about the diversity of all things that are us. Birds, trees, laughter, the taste of a salty chip. No two are the same and quite actually most of the people, places, or sensations we experience each day are quite different. And you have got to love that. This is Us. All things different.

Communication has never been faster and more accessible. We seldom have the patience to hear differing points of view. We just want to have our own views reinforced. Fracture is that divide that comes between us. It is that divide that separates the gray rocks from the brown rocks who no longer can be a part of one another. We initially thought that communication would bring us all closer together. Part of the surprise is that it is now giving us the opportunity to grow further apart. Friends of convenience have been fractured.

Even to not make a decision becomes a decision and no matter which path we take our lives will never be the same again. These Decisions force our lives to enter another point of divergence.

Rockbow, an obvious take-off of rainbow. My first inclination was to mimic the colors of the rainbow; however, it can be difficult to find some rocks in some of the color spectrum‘s and then the overwhelming desire was not to mimic what is found in our water world but to be something completely different--an experience out of the rock world. Adding to the complexity is that unlike a rainbow where the colors remain constant across their flow, the red rocks that make up their arc are seriously different. Just like in life, being the same color does not mean being the same.
